Link from another folder or a friend's album in your account

Create client-ready views with linked albums
Linking albums lets you organize and present albums under a focused path. You can link albums from friends or from your own account to build curated, client-specific views without duplicating files.

Link from another folder or a friend's album in your account

Linking works for both albums in your own account and shared albums from other members. A common use is creating a new folder for a specific client, then linking selected albums from your account from different folders, so they appear under one clean temporary URL.

Linking does not transfer ownership or duplicate files. The source album remains in its original location, and access rules continue to apply.

Open Link Album from your menu. To link an album:
  1. Log in and open the Link Albums area.
  2. Enter the username that owns the source album (use your own username when linking your own albums).
  3. If that Home page uses a guest password, enter the guest password.
  4. Review available albums, then select the album you want to link.
  5. Choose the folder where the link should appear so albums are presented in the order and structure you want.
  6. Save your selection to publish the linked album in that folder view.

What albums cannot be linked

Only albums that are intended for guest access can be linked. For privacy and access-control reasons, the following are not linkable:
  • Albums protected by guest password
  • Hidden albums
  • Personal/private albums not shared publicly
Shared or gallery albums without password restrictions can be linked.

Create client-ready views with linked albums

Linking Albums is one of the most powerful presentation tools on ImageEvent. Many members use it to build polished, client-focused collections without moving or duplicating images.

Why this feature is valuable:
  • Create a temporary, client-ready URL by linking selected albums into a dedicated folder
  • Reuse the same source albums across multiple projects, events, or client views
  • Keep your master archive organized while presenting only the albums relevant to each audience
  • Update your source album once and keep linked views aligned with the latest content
Practical workflow:
  1. Create a new folder named for the client, campaign, or event.
  2. Open Link Albums and enter the source username (often your own username).
  3. Select the albums you want to present and link them into that folder.
  4. Share the folder path as your clean client-facing URL.
This approach gives you flexible delivery, cleaner navigation, and a professional presentation style with minimal extra work.
