Many Ways to Share

ImageEvent offers several sharing methods for different audiences and workflows. Recipients do not need an ImageEvent account to view shared content. While signed in, use Share Link in the page header on your Home page (your album listing), on a folder listing, or on an album to copy the page URL, show a QR code for that link, and open Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, or WhatsApp with the link ready to post—see QR code and social sharing for details. On albums, the Album Bar also offers Email Album, Invite Friends, and Embed Album; direct URLs and guest passwords work the same. Common options:
  1. Use Share Link in the header for copy, QR code, and social posting (home, folder, or album)
  2. Email an album directly to recipients
  3. Send invitation links to friends, family, or clients
  4. Embed albums on your own website
  5. Share direct album, folder, or home URLs in your own messages

Share Link

Share Link is the header control you use while signed in to grab or broadcast the URL for exactly where you are:
  • Home page — your main site URL and album listing (the address you give people who should see your public home).
  • Folder — that folder’s listing URL (all albums under that folder).
  • Album — that album’s URL (a single gallery or event).
Open Share Link to copy the link, show a matching QR code, or open a social post with the URL prefilled. It is the same destination as the long-form Share menu described under QR code and social sharing. Whether guests see sharing controls when they are not logged in depends on Global Settings → Show sharing to guests.

QR code and social sharing

The Share Link / Share control appears in the title area while you are logged in. It is available on three levels so you can promote exactly what you want people to open:
  • Home page — shares your main site URL and album listing.
  • Folder — shares that folder’s listing URL.
  • Album — shares that album’s URL.
Open Share to reveal:
  • The page link in a read-only field and a Copy button.
  • A QR code that encodes the same URL, so guests can scan it with a phone camera (useful for print, signage, or in-person handoff).
  • Social sharing links that open in a new browser tab with the URL (and title or message text where the platform supports it) prefilled. The networks supported are Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and WhatsApp.
  • On album pages, when your account allows it, an Invite friends shortcut in the same menu (see Invite friends and family).
Which items appear for visitors (not only when you are logged in) also depends on Global Settings → Show sharing to guests.

Send Photo Album by Email

Email Album sends a compact, browser-friendly album message directly to your recipients. This method is useful when you want people to see the photos immediately without asking them to navigate through multiple pages. Each message remains lightweight because image previews load from ImageEvent when opened.

This works with most HTML-capable email providers and clients, including webmail and desktop email tools.

To send an album by email:
  1. Open your album and click Email Album from the Album Bar or album footer.
  2. Enter the email addresses of one or more guests:
    • Type addresses manually (comma, space, or line break separated), or
    • Select contacts from your Address Book.
  3. Choose BCC if you want recipient addresses hidden.
  4. Set your From name/email, subject, and optional personal message.
  5. Preview the message.
  6. Click "Email Album" to send.
Addresses entered are saved to your Address Book for faster future sends. It is recommended to include your own email so you can confirm formatting.

Before sending, review titles and descriptions for a polished presentation. Guestbook and top navigation elements are not included in album email delivery.

Invite friends and family

Use invitations when you want guests to visit the live album on ImageEvent:
  1. Open the album and click Invite Friends on the Album Bar (or Send Invitation in the footer when shown).
  2. Enter the email addresses of one or more guests:
    • Type addresses manually, or
    • Select contacts from your Address Book.
  3. Set your From name and email.
  4. Add subject and message.
  5. Click "Send Invitation".
Addresses are saved automatically to your Address Book. Including your own address helps you verify how recipients will see the invitation.

Embed Album on your website

Display an ImageEvent album directly on your own website with Embed Album:

Add one or more albums to your site by copying a single HTML line from ImageEvent. Albums are hosted by ImageEvent, while your site keeps its own branding and navigation style.

Album embedding uses standard JavaScript/HTML and works across mainstream browsers without plug-ins.
To embed an album in a web page:
  1. Open the album and click Embed Album on the Album Bar (or use Embed Album from your album listing tools).
  2. Copy the generated HTML snippet.
  3. Paste it into your website page source and publish.
Some message boards block JavaScript for anti-spam reasons. Use Embed Album on pages you control or can edit directly.

What is the URL and sharing it

While viewing the album signed in, open Share Link in the header to copy this address in one step (see Share Link). Your album URL is also a direct, reliable share link you can send in your own email, chat, or website content. The URL is created when the album is created and cannot be renamed later. If you need a different URL, create a new album, move content, and retire the old one.

Common uses for direct album URLs:
  • Include links in your own invitations or announcements
  • Post links on your website or client portal
  • Share by text or word-of-mouth
  • Print handouts/flyers for in-person events

Adding guest password to album URL

If you have a guest password to your album, you can include that in the URL. Your guests will not be required to enter a guest password to get to your album.
  • Append the following to the URL: "?pa=<GUESTPASSWORD>"
For example if your username is "smithfamily", your album URL is "familyreunion" and guest password to album is "family", your URL will be: https://imageevent.com/smithfamily/familyreunion?pa=family

It is also possible to include the guest password to your Home page the same way.

Sharing using the same guest passwords

If more than one album has a guest password, it may be a good idea to use the same exact guest password value. Guests will only have to enter the guest password once to go to one album-- when viewing other albums it is not needed to enter the same guest password value again.

Using your addressbook

Address Book stores your invitation contacts so repeat sharing is faster and more consistent. You can add, edit, and remove contacts at any time.

To access Address Book:
  1. Log in to your account
  2. Click "Account, Billing & Address Book"
  3. Click "Address Book"
Manage contacts:
  • To add a contact, click "Add Contact"
  • To edit/view a contact, click the email address
  • To remove one or more contacts, select checkboxes and click "Delete Selected"

Contact listings include email, name, and optional phone details. Click a contact email to view or edit full fields.
