Yawie's Cards

I'm in the midst of one of my periodic collecting revolutions - the dismantling my St. Louis T206 collection. I've sold quite a few cards so far (11 January), and it's just a matter of time before most, if not all, of my rarities scatter to new homes. I enjoyed hunting for Cardinals and Browns front-back combos, but my hobby activity was slowing over the last part of 2008. I'm sure I'm not alone in that regard, but I'm equally sure I'm one of the more restless collectors out there.

A recent N54 B/S/T post led me consider a massive swap of T206's for a cornerstone-type card. I never ended up communicating with the guy, but just thinking about the possibility of such a deal made me realize that it was time for another shakeup.

I'm still waiting for that major acquisition, but there's a few strong contenders among the collections of some of the people with whom I've talked trade. I'm not going to bother updating my albums and folders until order is restored. In fact, I'm not even sure how they're going to look going forward.

Thanks for looking, Steve

The Finite Collection
1. The Finite Collection

Having read about a collector who limited his collection to 25 cards - once at that limit, he would sell one anytime he made a new purchase - I thought it would be fun to assemble my non-T206 collection in a similar manner. Instead of 25, though, I decided to set my limit at my age, so I need to keep this folder at 34 or fewer cards until 4 December. So far, it hasn't been too difficult to maintain that level.
