WENDY (Georgia) (3/3/08)| Wendy was a puppymill dog dumped at a high kill shelter when her people decided they didn't need her anymore. Besides being generally uncared for, she was discovered to have multiple mammary lumps (requiring a radical mastectomy), a few loose teeth, and heartworms. Her diagnostics, treatment, and surgery(ies) are estimated at $900. Wendy looks and acts like she hasn't gotten very many breaks in her 6 years of life. Will you help us do right by her? |

MOXIE (Washington) (January 2008)| Moxie was hit by a car left on the side of the road for 24 hrs, then dropped off at a Texas shelter, unable to walk and snapping in pain. At the shelter she was found to be heartworm positive so naturally was deemed completely unadoptable and no other rescues would take her, so she was due to be euthanized. But the shelter didn't count on Ratbone Rescues! Click Moxie's picture for more information. |

AUSTIN (Oregon) (December 2007)| Austin required major invasive surgery to remove a foreign body wedged between the small intestine and the large intestine, which was punctured in several places. Although he was given only a 20% chance of surviving the surgery and raging sepsis, he has pulled through. Click his picture for more info. |

WEEZIE (Florida) (March 2007)| Little Weezie Ratbone and her siblings were being fostered in New York state until it was discovered that Weezie had a birth defect that needed a specialist's care. After flying to Florida, Weezie was examined by our surgeon and we found that she had a detached ureter (the tube that carries urine from the kidney to the bladder). One ureter is connected to the bladder, but the other was too long, and attached to the vagina. This caused Weezie to dribble urine all the time. Click her picture for more info. |
