KnD are health testing Breeders. We test for 
all the test suggested by the Rat Terrier parent
club ARTA. We make all our results, good and
bad, public knowledge on OFA. Every dogs
OFA health certified numbers are also
located on their individual web page.
We don't just breed... WE STRIVE.
We strive for happy healthy Rat Terriers
that are
conformationally correct per
UKC and AKC Breed Standard.The two most reputable registries in the U.S.A.
CHIC (Canine Health Information Center), works in conjunction with OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) and the breeds parent club. It shows that a dog has been tested for all the test that the breeds parent club suggest as most important test for that breed.
There is no pure bred merle Rat Terrier
Merle breeders will tell you that all this is nothing
but "scare tatics" it's all "malarkey". A&M and all the
other research done on merle was NOT so there could be
"scare tatics". They are actual factual studies.
I am more apt to believe those studies than people
that look for an
excuse to say it is ok so they can breed it.
If it all OK why do they worry so about us all
knowing EVETYTHING about merle and not just that
it is an enticing color pattern to some.If it's not a problem..
show me the studies that say it is ALL
ok and that there
is NOTHING wrong with it.. They can't, all they can say is.. "I - Me"
No case studies or facts.
Breeding 2 merles together is certainly a way to bring on major health problems, but there is now documented proof (see here) that puppies from a one parent merle breeding are more likely to have health issues than puppies from two non-merle parents. Not double merle a single merle parent.

What You Can Expect 
Your puppy will be spayed or neutered at the age of 9 weeks old. It will then stay here at KnD until it is 12 weeks old to insure it's health prior to leaving. All puppies are microchipped, wormed and have had a 5 way vaccination at 6 weeks, a 7 way at 9 and 12 weeks.
