Welcome to Harris Rats! We are dedicated to raising high quality puppies for breed betterment first (striving to improve with each litter) and for pet, show, and performance homes. We are located in Merrimack County (Just north of Concord) NH and a short driving distance to MA, ME, and VT.
We raise Mini (13" and under) and Standard sized (over 13") UKC registered Rat Terriers. Our goals in breeding are to produce the finest specimen of Rat Terriers that we possibly can, focusing in on health, temperment, and conformation. Very much thought and consideration goes into each and every one of our planned breedings. Even more thought goes into how and where our puppies are placed. If you are interested in purchasing one of our pups, we ask that you fill out a puppy application which may be followed up with furthur questions. Please do not take offense at our questions, we need to make sure that our babies are being placed into the appropriate homes and also that the puppy you have selected will be a good match for what you are looking for in a pup as well because we want you to be happy with your new family member. Also feel free to ask us the questions you need to ask in order to determine that we are the right breeder for you. We do prefer to keep in touch with all of our previous buyers on occasion so as to know how our lines are developing. If this puts you off, and you would rather deal strictly with a "profit breeder" who doesnt care what happens with that puppy once you walk out the door, then we are not the right breeder for you. We are not in this to "sell" puppies, but for the love and dedication to this wonderful breed.
If we do not have a suitable puppy for you we would be happy to refer you to other reputable Rat Terrier breeders in surrounding New England towns and beyond.
All of our Rat Terrier breeding stock are UKC registered and OFA certified prior to breeding. We are members of the ARTA as well as our local Rat Terrier club AVRTC (Apple Valley Rat Terrier Club)
