Our litters are whelped and raised in our home where they are showered with love and attention each and every day. We start the Developing High Achievers Program of early neurological stimulation with our puppies during the first week of age. Each puppy is handled and loved from the day it is born but we have seen the addition of this program make a real difference in the self confidence and temperament of our pups.
Our puppies are all UKC registered. Decker Terrier litters are also NRTA and UKCI registered. Shipping is available out of Charlotte, NC.
We care deeply about the pups we bring into this world. We, therefore, take steps to qualify each new owner, to assure they are prepared for the challenges for owning a terrier. Please contact us for more information regarding any of the puppies you see in this album or to request a copy of our puppy application. We are looking for loving, committed, forever homes for our babies.

I will be placing some of my Rat Terriers in order to expand my American Hairless Terrier program.
I am looking for loving, committed, forever homes for these wonderful dogs and will provide you all information needed to help them transition smoothly into their new homes.
These dogs will be offered for very reasonable adoption fees and will be sold without any guarantees whatsoever.
Only the dogs in this album are available for adoption by a show/breed or pet home. Please do not inquire about dogs that are not listed in this album! Serious inquiries only.

AHTs are alert, intelligent, energetic and above all very loyal and loving companions. These wonderful hairless dogs require protection from the sun and winter cold weather and love nothing better than snuggling in your lap or curling up in the sun. They will amaze you with their versatility, atheletic abilities and zest for life.
I can't imagine my life without my AHTs. Once you own one of these dogs, you will want another. They enrich our lives each and every day.

The Rat Terrier is a true American breed! These amazing dogs descended from the terriers brought to the US by English miners and other working class immigrants; probably crosses between the Smooth Fox Terrier, the Manchester Terrier and the now extinct white English Terrier. Some of these dogs were crossed with Whippets or Italian Greyhounds for speed, and Beagles for hunting ability, which explains the speed, agility, tenacity and keen senses of today's Rat Terrier.
We are very proud of our Rat Terriers and love each one for his/her fun loving spirit. We have standard variety Rat Terriers that include the noble Decker bloodline. Rat Terriers crave human companionship and attention. They are unusually sensitive and intuitive, and thrive on praise. Rat Terriers are wonderful family pets and need to be involved in all family activities.
The Decker bloodline was created to bring out the true hunting instincts of the Rat terriers. Decker line dogs are generally larger than the standard variety of Rat Terrier. Our Decker line dogs range in size from 22-30 lbs and 16"-18" at the shoulder and are carefully bred to maintain their unique qualities, keen prey drive and noble attitude.

I am honored to be loved by my cattle dogs and feel truly blessed to own such outstanding representatives of the breed standard!
The Australian Cattle Dog personality is often reserved with strangers and they can be fiercely protective when they perceive that their property and/or persons are being threatened. (Of course, their personalities vary greatly as with any other breed.) They will bond intensely with their person/family and want to be with you at all times. In fact, they need to be with their people.
The ACD is one of the most intelligent breeds and they are extremely active, therefore, mental stimulation is of paramount importance. They need firm training, lots of love and affection and an active lifestyle. Given those three basic things, they make wonderful, loyal, loving companions beyond compare.

These are pictures of puppies that were bred here at Blue Granite Kennels and are now in their forever homes. We are ever to grateful for the updates and e-mails we receive from our adoptive families. We feel truly blessed to have such wonderful homes for our babies.

Our Home (July 18, 2007)We live in a 112 year old farm house in a very rural area of South Carolina. Our house was built by the Norfolk Southern Railroad. It's original occupants were responsible for refilling the steam engines from a water tower across the road (now gone).
We have dense woods behind us, a huge pasture on one side and an open field on the other side. I can sit on my front porch and watch deer and rabbits scamper across the pasture in the evenings. It is very serene here and the only sounds we hear are my wind chimes in the evening breeze and barks from my beloved dogs when an "invader" appears.
The dogs have four play yards fenced with five foot chain link fencing. They have almost full shade (most of the day) and lots of room to run.
We are very blessed to live in this small, close knit community and enjoy such beautiful surroundings.
