Ricky
Browns Valley, CA
8/08

Ricky (aka "Tricky Ricky) is about 11 pounds and 2-1/2 years old. Sometimes he acts like he expects to get in trouble if he is goofing around, then is so surprised to find out it's ok to have a great time! He likes to run circles around chairs or other objects. He will play with his favorite squeaky frog for hours. He loves to be held and petted, and will give you a kiss very gently when you are rubbing his ears. He is ok with gentle dogs but chases cats. He is learning leash manners. Ricky is crate trained and generally housetrained but with an occasional accident, though he would be fine if he had access to the outdoors. He's the picture of health, with gleaming coat and eyes, and very muscular. Ricky is neutered, heartworm negative and on preventative, up to date on vaccines. Ricky's fosterhome is in Browns Valley, CA, 1-1/2 hours north of Sacramento. Adoption fee is $150. For more info, contact Julie at 530-639-2240 or gsprescue@aol.com.

Jack
Port St. Lucie, Florida
March 19, 2009

Hi! My name is Jack, Jack Russell. I am everything you've always wanted in a dog. I am handsome, a lean and muscular 20 lbs., about 1 1/2 years young, clean, walk on a leash and come when I'm called. I would never jump up on you to get your attention, but I love to cuddle in bed with you! Well, yes, there is this one little flaw in my CV - I just can't stand other male dogs. I mean, who needs competition, really? I want to be yours with heart and soul. If I share my pillow then I want to share it with you, not some hairy legged canine. Do you see what I mean? Please let me know if you want to share your pillow and your life with me.

T-Rex
Windsor, Maine
April 28, 2009

T-Rex is a 2.5 year old Miniature Rat Terrier, who weighs around 13 lbs and stands about 11.5 inches at the shoulders. Rex came to North East Companion Animal Refuge (AKA Dog's Deserve Better) about a month ago from a very chaotic, stressful home situation. Rex is a very smart, silly boy who is very playful and eager to please. He gets along with other dogs but sometimes tries to be bossy - though he will generally defer if there is a conflict. He would be best in a home with a female canine companion or as an only dog, but can get along very well in groups of dogs. He also gets along well with dog friendly cats. Unfortunately we would not feel comfortable placing him in a home with children. In Rex's previous home he was very misunderstood. His exercise needs were not being met and there were no boundaries or rules in place. He became very fearful of one individual in the home who had "backhanded him" at one point and as a defen...

Zilla
Stokes County NC
June 24, 2009

Meet Zilla. She is a very loving and sweet 1 year old Rat Terrier, pulled from a high kill shelter on 6/4/09, in Stokes County NC.  I pulled her for a group in GA. She was intended for another rescue, but I did not feel good about sending her and the other 3 dogs I pulled along with her.  Now I must find her the right  home. Zilla is  a very sweet and affectionate gal, and smiles a lot as you can see. The longer I have them here, the less dogs I can pull and save from being gassed for other reputable organizations. Zilla is heartworm negative, spayed and UTD on all shots. She is about one year old. I can be reached at stokeshumanesoc@aol.com if you would like to meet her.

Rascal
Columbus, NE
November 9, 2009

"Rascal is a 5 year old, neutered male Rat Terrier. He is white with black and brown spots. He is current on all vaccinations. He is a well-behaved dog that can be a bit protective. He does not like kids, so a home with no little ones would be best. Rascal's prior owner has had minimal problems with the dog, but must relinquish due to housing changes. He has had some accidents in the house, but is house trained if kept to a schedule. Right now he is being kenneled at our clinic, so we want to find him a home soon." For more info on Rascal please contact Twin Rivers Vet Clinic at twinrivers@frontiernet.net or 402-562-8387.
