1 Grammy was an older girl who's favorite thing was sitting with her humans. She passed away knowing she was loved very much by her foster family.
2 Rosie passed away from distemper after she was rescued by the CA team. She passed Jan 2009. This little sweet heart will be sadly missed. Her last weeks on earth she was treated like a princess by her 2 foster moms.
3 Aba was rescued from a central valley shelter after the shelter informed us they could not get her over her KC . After several weeks on stronger medication the foster mom had her tested for distemper. She was put to rest a week later , losing her battle against the dreadful disease.
4 Nautica was found as a stray in north Georgia. She was 6-8 years old and a social, feisty, easy-going girl. Nautica had spay surgery September 8 but did not recover, for unknown reaasons. Sept 2008
5 Calleigh and 2 other Rat Terriers were picked up by Animal Control following a 911 call reporting a dead person in a house. The two girls were in awful condition, having been left outside without food or care for an extended period. Calleigh spent a week in intensive care at the vet's, trying to overcome a severe respiratory infection, pneumonia, and the debilitating effects of neglect, but unfortunately wasn't strong enough and died 11/10/08.
6 Little Archie was a stray who had been in a kill shelter for a week before New Rattitude pulled him out. He was at his foster home only 1 day before being admitted to the vet hospital...Archie died of obstruction or perforation of his intestines...he most likely got into something bad while trying to survive on the streets. Archie loved to go for walks and he loved squeaky toys. His favorite toy was a pink piggy. He was surrounded by people who cared about him in his final couple of days. April 2009
7 Callista was a 12 pound rat terrier girl who just wanted love. Sadly, Callista became quite ill with neurological seizures soon after she was rescued and did not survive. She died in the arms of her foster mom, finally at peace enough to wag her tail and give kisses on her next journey.
8 Kewpie was a sweet little 9 pound, 5 month old rat terrier who loved to snuggle and give hugs. She and her sister Poppy were scheduled to be put to sleep in a KY shelter in Kentucky before being flown to Washington State. Kewpie battled an illness, believed to be distemper, and sadly did not make it.
9 Mitch was a one year old Toy Rat Terrier who weighs just 6.5 lbs. He loved to wrestle and play with his one year old RT foster brother and the 3 other adult dogs in his foster home. Mitch died during a surgery needed to fix a physical abnormality.
10 Bugsy battled a horrible case of demodectic mange and was on the mend when he was inadvertantly exposed to a dog who had contracted distemper. He fought the disease valiantly but in the end his immunosuppressed body was no match for the deadly disease. He was a sweet dog who always seemed to be smiling and was up for any adventure that came his way.
11 Little Davey, too cute for words, died from Parvo.
12 At 14 years and 9 pds, little Cricket spent her final days in New Rattitude foster care getting the loving care she deserves. She died November 2012.
13 Kiki was a sweet senior. She had the softest fur and was a quiet companion.
14 Arni was a young fellow who had been found on a freezing 15 degree winter day. He was a champion cuddler. June 2013.
15 Ike was heartworm positive when he was pulled from a Texas shelter in mid September. After coming to rescue, it was discovered that he had Caval Syndrome and was in kidney failure. He enjoyed a month of loving care, but this little 2-year-old's body began to shut down and breathing became hard for him, so he was put to rest to end his suffering. October 2008
16 Macon was very sick and his little body gave out on Oct. 24, 2009. He was a sweet boy who will be missed.
17 Josey crossed the Rainbow Bridge unexpectedly after a very aggressive form of pneumonia. He will be missed greatly. November, 2013
18 Sweet Lisbon was an affectionate, low-key sweet gal when she came to NR. Sadly Lisbon was diagnosed with liver disease and battled the disease for well over a year losing her battle on March 1,2014. We'll miss your sweet face, Lisbon.
19 Vivian was a sweet spunky little lady who brought a smile to those around her. You are missed sweet Vivian!
20 Ari made a lot of friends with his sweet temperament before he met an unfortunate death in January 2015. RIP sweet boy.
21 RIP Suri, aka Tina Fey. This sweet girl suffered from extreme noise sensitivities due to a neurological disorder that was not able to be managed medically or environmentally. She is greatly missed.
22 Minnie was an easy-going happy girl who got along with everyone.
23 Sallie Mae RIP Nov 2016.
24 In loving memory of Perrito (age 11), who spent the last 32 months of his life in foster care with New Rattitude. Perry passed away from acute pancreatitis on 9/16/17.
Perry was a challenge, medically and behaviorally. He was admired by his foster mom for being a tough, resilient little stinker. Nothing got that boy down for long. He will be missed!
25 RIP Palmer. Palmer died suddenly from renal failure while surrounded by his loving foster parents. He will truly be missed.
26 Sweet Violet will always be remembered by her foster mom and all whom she came into contact with. She had some neurological medical problems that prevented her from having the quality of life that she deserved. RIP Violet.
27 Maisie came to rescue with out of control diabetes. Her foster family tried to help her get it under control but her organs suddenly shut down and she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. She was loved and cared for each day she was with New Rattitude.
28 RIP Bud. Bud knew love for the full 18 months he was in foster care. He will always be remembered by his foster family as he runs and plays at Rainbow Bridge and is in emotional peace from here on out.
29 Sweet Ellie went in for vetting, was found to have extensive cancer, and the vet recommended euthanasia on the spot as there was no way to treat Ellie at that point. Thankfully, Ellie avoided suffering and now rests in peace. She was loved by her foster parents and knew what it meant to be part of a loving family. RIP
I lost my Jude March 1 2018 from severe panctratitis complicated by an undiagnosed diabetic problem. He came to us in July 2012 as a rescue and was such a joy. I am devastated from losing him. He was my little protector and followed me everywhere. I am lost without him. He lost his vision within a yearnof coming to us most likely aggravated by his abuse, a large dog choker chain wrapped twice around his neck and almost imbedded into hus skin. It took some time for his cough to become minimal and be abke to breathe with his mouth closed again. I pray he knew he was loved and cared for by his new family. - Dyanna Moore, Thu, 15 Mar 2018 4:36PM
My brave, sweet Mickey died in my arms November 28, 2016. He was about 14, and we had been together almost 12 years. We went through a lot of life together! In January 16 he had to have his front left leg removed b/c of melanoma--it didn't stop him a bit! He loved running around our Vermont farm, poking around in the woods, and coming back to a nice treat. His cancer had returned, but he was still spunky and we thought we had a few more months. I was carrying him back inside on an icy night and he suddenly stroked out and died. He went his way--no fuss and on his own terms. I loved him so much and visit his grave in our woods. - Maria, Mon, 5 Dec 2016 2:53PM
Today, my 13 year old Rat Terrier had to be put down because he was in the final stages of congestive heart failure and in pain. I'd had him from the time he was 8 weeks old. He was my 11th birthday present. We had brought a towel to wrap him in (because we didn't know how he'd react being in a car for the first time) and all he wanted to do was look out the windows. He was my partner-in-crime, confidant, shoulder to cry on, best friend, protector, snuggle buddy and my baby. If anyone loved these dogs half as much as I loved Ozzie, then I know the suffering they have experienced from losing one of these wonderful animals. - Megan, Tue, 1 Mar 2016 4:46PM
I have had a few dogs in my life but none close to my beloved Lola. She was everything a dog could be. Smart, couragious, loving, caring, a dog of valor and compassion who nursed me back to health always by my side. To you Lola I will forever miss you and look for you around every corner. You were the sweetest thing to enter my life . After a courageous battle with cancer we had to let her sleep because it was the fair thing to do for her. I miss you. - robert, Tue, 1 Mar 2016 11:49AM
It is so gratifying to know there are so many caring compassionate pet owners in this World. Dogs may live short lives however they sure do a lot of living and loving during that time - Lee, Wed, 24 Feb 2016 12:27PM
Im memorium of my sweet Rocky. He passed on May 23. Mom is heart broken but she know she is going to see you at the rainbow bridge so we can cross it together! - Mayra, Mon, 25 May 2015 7:11AM

I lost my little Lola at age 9. She was in my parents care (never again), while I was trying to find us a home and was killed chasing a rabbit in front of the house. I miss her every day and will always cherish our time together. I know some day I will see her again and we will run like the wind, my little pearl. - Jody Fisher, Mon, 22 Dec 2014 9:33PM

Only time moves on to the next scene; memory remains part of the heart forever. For 80 years, I have owned at least one dog and when any of them, like a little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset, had to go to "doggie heaven", my heart was slow to mend. - Joyce Perry, Wed, 19 Mar 2014 9:38AM
Thank you for all that you do, including the love, care, and attention that you provide these babies who don't have the opportunity to find a permanent home. We just lost our 16 1/2 year old Rat Terrier, Precious, a month ago. She was our baby. - C.F. Haynes, Sat, 28 Dec 2013 9:19AM
