I traveled to Haiti in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike--visiting a make-shift camp for homeless Haitians who lost everything in the town of Cabaret. Chaos broke out and we were forced to leave. We then headed to Cabaret to tour the destruction.

In November I traveled to Ethiopia for HDNews to produce, shoot and write a feature on an orphanage called the JNM Children's Village. An Italian couple founded the orphanage in an area that has the largest HIV/AIDS infected population in the world.

This is my first international feature for HDNews.
We take a  rare look inside one  of Sao Paulo's infamous favelas. These are slums that have become common in Brazil's big cities. They are notorious for being infested with crime and drugs. But- we were greeted with open arms inside this favela which sits in the shadows of skyscrapers in the wealthy Morumbi district.

My trip to West Africa with a South Florida woman committed to helping the child victims of modern day slavery.  We travel to some of the most remote villages in Africa, and meet children sold by their parents when they were just five years old.

I travel to Nairobi to meet the elephant caretakers of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. The organization rescues baby elephants abandoned in the wild. The orphans are nursed  back to health and later released.
