E90-2 AMERICAN CARAMEL This is the perfect set for me. It's small, but still contains a couple first-rate hall of fame players. |

E90-3 AMERICAN CARAMEL (March 8, 2005)This CUBS VS. SOX set is one I've been after for many years and I've finally completed it! It's a lot of fun to chase after some of the scarcer cards in the set. Cards in nicer condition are almost impossible to find.
Every card could be possible with a color variation which is a result of the lack of quality control throughout the printing process. I've personally seen printing variations with Cole, Payne, Smith, and Tinker.
I've found a few cards to be quite a bit tougher than others in the set.
Tougher cards include:
Hahn, Chance, Payne, Archer, and Gandil
Easier cards include:
Dougherty, Schulte, Blackburne, Steinfeldt, Sheckard and Walsh |

E95 (March 8, 2005)PART I of one of the most completeable caramel sets out there. This set is loaded with hall of famers and popular players of the time period. The text on the back of each card is in black print. |

E96 (March 8, 2005)PART II The print on the back of these cards is red instead of the black print that is found on the e95 set. |

E98 ANONYMOUS (March 8, 2005)E98 is quite a mystery due to the anonymity of the producer.
The style of the issue is similar to other caramel issues and cards are often found with standard looking caramel stains on them, so they have been designated as an "E" set.
Each of the 30 players in the set can be found with four different color backgrounds. Several collectors have different opinions on which backgrounds are tougher. I've experienced all four to come up with about the same frequency, with GREEN popping up a little less often than the other three.
As far as individual players go, I would group a few cards in the "tougher" category. They include:
Tenny, Mullin, Vaughn, Coombs, Walsh, and McClean.
Hall of Fame Players seem to pop up in greater numbers, but more than half of the set consists of HOFERS and it makes sense that collectors would hold on to these players rather than the commons. |
